Mets fall to Braves 7-5

Tonight the New York Mets came up short in their comeback effort. Trailing from the beginning of the game, the Mets were able to come within one run tonight, but couldn’t get the big hit to either tie the game or get the lead.

The Mets were able to get four runs on three hits to get within a run, but that would be it. They had a very nice opportunity to get the lead in the fifth inning when they had the bases loaded with no outs. They were unable to get anything from that scenario and that really cost them in this game.

Chris Young started in this game and really struggled to make any solid pitches in this game. Young went 3.0 innings allowing five runs on six hits. This start Young never had any of his good pitches and that really made tonight’s outing that much harder.

This was a very uneasy performance by the Mets tonight. Hitting wise the Mets never could get the clutch hit to get them over the hump. Tonight the Mets came out slow and that really made a comeback really tough. The Mets will continue this series tomorrow in hopes of getting a win.
