Dickey blanks Marlins 3-0; Earning 17th win

The New York Mets took on the Miami Marlins tonight at Marlins Park looking to get a win. This game would turn into another Cy Young performance by R.A. Dickey.

Dickey would work a complete game shutout and earn his 17th win of the season. This performance really has to put Dickey into the lead in the Cy Young race. He continues to be consistent and get the Mets wins every time he takes the mound. Dickey went nine innings allowing no runs on five hits. Dickey struck out seven batters in this game as his amazing season continues. This was the fifth complete game from Dickey this season which leads the league.

The Mets offense would plate three runs as that was enough for Dickey to work with. The biggest hit for the Mets came from Ike Davis who blasted a ball to right field for a two-run homerun. Davis continues to swing the bat much better since making a change in his stance at the plate.

The Mets will have two games remaining in this series as they look to continue to win games.
