Tonight the New York Mets didn’t have any kind of offense nor any type of pitching. The Marlins came out wanting this game and took easily out of the Mets hands.
Chris Young started for the Mets and really struggled in his 4.1 innings of work tonight. Young allowed seven runs on seven hits and walked three batters. This was a very uneasy performance by Young tonight, he struggled to have movement on his pitches and that led to three homeruns.
This was a very tough game to watch from the Mets standpoint. Simply because they could never get any consistency tonight. They could never string together multiple hits to get something going.
David Wright was the only Met to have multiple hits tonight as he went 2 for 4. Wright was later lifted from the game when the game was well out of hand.
This Met team is really struggling and are slowly and painfully falling behind. Tonight was another example of how this team has performed after the all-star break. Tomorrow the Mets have an early game and will have to come out ready to play. The Mets will rely heavily on R.A. Dickey tomorrow after using six pitchers out of the bullpen tonight.
