Mets fall to Rockies 3-1

The New York Mets fell to the Colorado Rockies tonight after having a slim lead early in the game. The Mets offense really went quiet late in this game and that really took any chance at a win away.

R.A. Dickey was looking for win number 16, but a homerun would put him in position for a no decision. Dickey went seven innings allowing one run on three hits. Dickey had a very nice night despite not getting the win. He really did his best to keep the Mets in the game, and he did. This was a start Dickey really deserved a win because of his nice pitching. With six strikeouts tonight, Dickey really had his knuckleball working early in the game. But one mistake pitch really cost him a chance at a win.

Offensively the Mets were able to score one run on a Daniel Murphy RBI single. That run came in the first inning when the Mets really came out swinging. This loss was against a team that has the worst starters ERA in the league. The Mets will have three more games against the Rockies to start putting together some wins.

The Mets did get two men on base in the ninth inning trailing by two runs, but Mike Baxter would fly-out to end the game. The Mets will continue their series with the Rockies tomorrow night.
