The New York Mets fell to the San Diego Padres tonight stopping their winning streak at two games. This was a very tough game for the Mets offensively as they struggled to get a big hit to get a commanding lead. After leading by a run most of the game, the Mets couldn’t drive in anymore runs.
R.A. Dickey started for the Mets and really had his good knuckleball early in this game. Dickey went seven innings allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits. Dickey struck out nine batters tonight and walked just three. Dickey now has three losses on the year.
Offensively the Mets only were able to score one run in the fourth inning. They went 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position. And left six men on base.
This series will continue tomorrow as the Mets look to get back on track. Tonight the Mets fell short of a win as they fell to the Padres 3-1.
