R.A. Dickey earns 15th win; Mets beat Marlins 6-1

The New York Mets took on the Miami Marlins tonight, looking to snap a three game losing streak.

R.A. Dickey pitched for the Mets in this contest as he looked to get his 15th win of the season. Dickey would pitch a gem of a game as he dominated the Marlin hitters. Dickey went the full nine innings today to pitch his fourth complete game of the season. Dickey allowed just one run on five hits in those nine innings. His amazing season continues as he was able get through the Marlin lineup with little trouble. Dickey struck out ten batters today and he really did a nice job in changing speed and location.

The Mets offense supported Dickey strongly as they were able to score six runs. A offensive spark today was Andres Torres who finished up a single shy of the cycle. Torres went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s and a walk. Torres really stepped up today and made a nice effort to help get his team a win.

A win today snapped a three game losing streak and puts the Mets back on track. They will now face the Atlanta Braves tomorrow in hopes of keeping their winning ways alive. The Mets defeated the Marlins 6-1 to avoid the series sweep.
