Reds defeat Mets 3-0

After no score for most of the game, the Cincinnati Reds were able to get three runs in the ninth to win the game. Jay Bruce hit a three-run homerun in walk-off fashion that gave the Reds the win.

Chris Young was in trouble for most of the night, but somehow made the pitches to get out of jams. Young really pitched well despite giving up eight hits in 5.2 innings of work.

The Mets bullpen did a solid job early in this game, but Manny Acosta and Josh Edgin really struggled tonight. Acosta walked the leadoff batter and then follow that with a hit to put two men on base and no outs. Trying to stop the inning from getting away, Terry Collins bought in Josh Edgin to try to restore some order. But Edgin would serve up a three-run homerun to Jay Bruce to end the game.

This was a very tough night for the Mets on both sides of the field. They had chances on the offensive side, but could never get the big hit to drive in some runs.

The Mets and Reds will continue their series tomorrow, where the Mets will try to even the series. The Mets have a tough task in trying to beat the Reds, but if they can have their hitting and pitching support the other, then they can beat them. Tonight was a very demoralizing loss, but they have to fight through it and move on.
