This is very concerning for the Knicks who will already be without Iman Shumpert. Brewer was to serve as a nice fill in for Shumpert who is out after tearing his ACL in the playoffs.
Ronnie Brewer is known for his defensive abilities. That alone makes him very valuable to the Knicks simply because over the last few seasons they haven’t had a great perimeter defender.
As the season nears this injury will definitely be a cause for concern. But Brewer is expected to be back for the start of the regular season. The only issue now will be his lack of chemistry with his teammates now that he will be sidelined through training camp.
