Marcus Camby had a very nice season last year and really showed that he can still be a productive starter. Starting 53 of 59 games last year with two teams, Camby showed that his production is about the same as a starter and off the bench. Averaging 4.9 points per game last season, Camby showed that scoring for him is less of a need for him. He did average a healthy 9.0 rebounds per game last season. That rebound total will be huge for the Knicks. Health wise Camby has done very well in keeping himself from picking up major injuries. Now as a back-up center, Camby should still be solid and even more impactful with his minutes.
What to Expect
Camby will be very important off the bench this season. He plays excellent defense and still has solid speed to block shots. This season Camby should be successful off the bench and become a deadly force. Expect Camby to grab tons of rebounds this season with his scoring output staying relatively low. The Knicks need Camby to make plays on the defensive end and help create scoring opportunities off blocked shots. Camby is still a very active player and this season shouldn’t be any different.
