Nationals shut out Mets 2-0

The Washington Nationals finished off the Mets as they were able to complete the sweep tonight winning 2-0. Ryan Zimmerman and Ian Desmond both homered for the Nationals and those two hits proved costly for the Mets.

Starting for the Mets was Matt Harvey who would have a nice night despite getting the loss. Harvey lasted five innings allowing one run on five hits. He did leave with the bases loaded, but Robert Carson was able to get through the inning without allowing a run. Harvey did strikeout 10 batters and walked three batters. The Mets really have to be happy with what Harvey has done so far. His record doesn't reflect how good he has done.

Offensively the Mets continue to be challenged and are really bad at the plate right now. They were unable to score any runs tonight and that really took away any chance at a win.

At home the Mets have been horrific and tonight wasn’t any different. The Mets will have an off day before going on a quick three game road trip against the Milwaukee Brewers.
