76ers defeat Knicks 98-90

The New York Knicks faced the Philadelphia 76ers tonight looking to end a two game losing streak. The Knicks really struggled in the second quarter tonight and fell down by 22 points. That quarter was a complete struggle for the Knicks, who never could get baskets and defensive stops consistently, they really failed on defensive rotations and their energy level was low.

The third quarter was a complete success for the Knicks as they were able to outscore the 76ers 28-14 to bring themselves within four points. Raymond Felton was unconscious from behind the three point arc. His five threes came at a point when the Knicks were looking for a scoring option.

The fourth quarter the Knicks struggled to limit the 76ers offense thus they would lose this game. Their intensity remained in the fourth quarter, but after being down by so much, they just couldn’t get the lead.

Carmelo Anthony had a great night as he scored 23 points. Anthony played some great defense at times in this game. His effort was there tonight and he tried his best to get the team the win. His 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and and 4 steals were also impressive. He looked to get his teammates involved in this game and did a nice job in doing so.

Raymond Felton scored 23 points tonight really showing his scoring touch. He made some very nice moves to get to the basket and most of those moves worked. Felton has really made it a mission to prove that last season was a fluke. He has shown that he is ready for the regular season and tonight was another statement by Felton.

Chris Copeland scored 15 points off the bench as he continues to play at a very high level. Copeland has really been impressive with his ability to score on offense. He has an array of moves and is very skilled in the pick and roll. This preseason Copeland has shown the Knicks everything and right now he looks like the guy to make the team.

Tonight the Knicks had a terrible second quarter that really made it difficult to win. After a run to get them back within four points, the Knicks really struggled to get over the hump. The 76ers did a nice job in stopping the Knicks on the offensive end in the fourth quarter. They were also able to hit big shots. They won this game 98-90 to improve to 6-1 in the preseason.
