Grizzles halt Knicks winning streak; Win 105-95

The New York Knicks lost their first game of the season tonight to the Memphis Grizzlies. This was a very tough game for the Knicks, who didn’t matchup well against the Grizzlies from the start.

The Knicks were picked apart on the offensive glass allowing 12 offensive rebounds. That was their downfall tonight.

Foul trouble and frustration led to the Knicks losing this game. A third quarter filled with technical fouls and personal fouls left the Knicks in a bit of dysfunction.

Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler both were in foul trouble in the third quarter and that left the Knicks in a bit of rut.

Anthony scored a team high 20 points, but those weren’t enough tonight. Anthony had a nice game tonight, but foul trouble really limited his production in this one. His loss of composure really made this game impossible to win. He needs to regain his focus and move on from this tough road trip.

Raymond Felton had a nice game as he scored 18 points and dished out 5 assists. His game has really picked up in the points category. He continues to be a very vital part of the Knicks offense with the absence of Amare Stoudemire.

Off the bench Rasheed Wallace contributed nicely as he scored 13 points and recorded 3 blocks. He continues to show more of an offensive game as he comes back from retirement. Wallace was huge in the first half as he scored 10 points. He used an array of moves in the post to score and the Grizzlies had trouble stopping him. The Knicks should have used Wallace more in this game, but that is an afterthought now.

This was the first loss of the season for the Knicks, who really have done well this season. Overall this was a learning experience for the Knicks. They will now have to come back on Sunday afternoon to face the Indiana Pacers.
