Knicks defeat Pistons 121-100

The New York Knicks snapped a two game losing streak today against the Detroit Pistons. A very nice defensive effort gave the Knicks a nice win.

Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks today from the offense and really got them off to a nice start. Anthony scored 29 points including five three pointers. His shot has been very accurate over the last couple of games and tonight he really made the Pistons pay. As the leader of the team Anthony has to be the person to get them out to nice starts. Today he was able to do that and the Knicks were able to win.

Collectively the Knicks were able to accumulate 13 steals today. Despite being outscored in the third quarter, the Knicks were able to comeback and win the fourth quarter. Their defense was in the paint was poor as they allowed 46 points in the paint. They have to improve in limiting the number of plays made in the paint.

The play of JR Smith was on notice today as he scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists. Smith continues to play really well and his play has been evident in Knicks wins. Today Smith really had a nice all around game and really helped the team win.

Steve Novak finally had a break out game from behind the arc as he scored 18 points. Novak really got hot today as he hit five three pointers. His excellent shooting really propelled the Knicks over the Pistons. Not only was Novak solid on the offensive end, but he was able to get a couple of blocks and one steal. The Knicks really need Novak to find his shot every night. Today Novak did a nice job in hitting shots.

Overall the Knicks came out and won this game with excellent offensive execution. The Knicks will play tomorrow night against the Brooklyn Nets looking to continue winning.
