Winning their eighth game of the season, the New York Knicks defeated the New Orleans Hornets tonight. A very successful second half told the story in this game as the Knicks were able to control the game with excellent offensive and defensive execution.
From the start Carmelo Anthony was on fire and the Hornets could do nothing to stop him. Anything Anthony wanted to do, he was able to do. His 29 points in 28 minutes really showcased his scoring ability. He also grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in this game. The Knicks have benefited from Anthony playing well in all areas this season. Tonight he was able to lead the team from the onset and the Knicks never looked back.
Raymond Felton and JR Smith both scored 15 points each. Felton scored early in this game and made a season high 5 three pointers. They have done exceptionally well as the second and third scorers for the team.
The defense was strong in the second half and that resulted in them pulling away. Right now the Knicks are 8-1 and are the best in the NBA, record wise. This season the team is playing hard and wanting to win every night despite the opponent.
This was an excellent team win and tomorrow the Knicks will need to do the same as they take on the Dallas Mavericks for the second time this season. That game will start at 8:30 PM. But for tonight the Knicks defeated the Hornets 102-80 in another blow out win.
