The New York Knicks earned their 12th win of the season today, defeating the Phoenix Suns 106-99. Leading the entire game, the Knicks really showed that, at home, they are tough to beat.
Carmelo Anthony was outstanding today as he scored 34 points in 37 minutes. Anthony continues to be the source of offense for this team. Not only did Anthony
have an impact on the offensive end, but defensively Anthony had two blocks and a steal. His effort was exceptional today. He played with energy and really wanted this win today.
Raymond Felton continued his excellent play as he scored 23 points and dished out 7 assists. Felton also had no turnovers. This season Felton has really made his return to the Knicks an easy transition. His play on both ends has been special. Today he hit some big shots in the fourth quarter that pushed the Knicks past the Suns.
The Knicks continue to play well at home. Today they had a big lead and almost coughed it up, but they were able to hold on and win.
Tyson Chandler was huge in the paint as he scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Chandler also rejected two shots in this game. The Knicks have benefited from Chandler cleaning up missed shots. More importantly his points are really helping them win close games.
As a team the Knicks were able to get this win. Chris Copeland had his best game of the season as he contributed 8 points in the first half. Copeland really was a nice spark in that half. Surprisingly Copeland didn’t see any action in the second half. His play in this game was exceptional as he shot 80% from the field.
The Knicks will play the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night when they will look for win number 13. This season the Knicks have done well against the lower teams and those wins will definitely help get them to the postseason.
