The New York Knicks lost their fifth game of the season tonight as they fell to the Chicago Bulls 93-85. Shots were a struggle for the Knicks tonight as the Bulls did an excellent job in sticking to their man.
As a team tonight the Knicks really couldn’t move the ball the way the wanted too. The Bulls were excellent on defense and really made the Knicks shoot really tough shots.
Raymond Felton scored 27 points tonight, but shot 30 times in this game. He really isn’t the guy that the team wants to shoot that many shots, but without Carmelo Anthony for the second consecutive game, Felton’s scoring was necessary. Felton did have
5 assists and 5 rebounds tonight.
Tyson Chandler was a rebounding machine tonight as he collected 18 rebounds tonight. The Knicks really need Chandler to rebound and tonight he did that. Chandler also scored 14 points tonight with six made free throws. Chandler did pick up 5 fouls tonight and down the stretch that really hampered any aggressive play from him.
JR Smith scored 15 points of the bench despite a very poor shooting effort from him. Smith shot 28% from the field and really couldn’t get into an offensive rhythm.
Turnovers were an issue tonight for the Knicks, they committed 15 turnovers that led to 15 points. Those turnovers really stalled the Knicks offense and really kept them from getting into an offensive flow.
Tonight the Knicks just couldn’t get their shots to fall. Shooting 32% from the field really makes it hard to win. They had open looks and forced shots, but they missed many easy shots.
The Knicks will play tomorrow against the Denver Nuggets and will have to get over this loss very fast. Tonight the Bulls really did an excellent job in limiting the Knicks from getting any explosion in their offense. They stopped the pick and roll and really stayed up on shooters. This was a very tough night, but the Knicks will bounce back from this loss.
