Knicks blow past Heat 112-92

The New York Knicks defeated the Miami Heat in blow out fashion tonight. Without their primary scorer in Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks were able to get a huge win against the NBA Champions.

Leading the way for the Knicks was Raymond Felton. His play picked up in the third quarter when he scored 11 points for the Knicks and really gave them a spark in the second half. Felton would finish the game with 27 points and 7 assists. His play tonight was very nice to see without a primary scorer like Carmelo Anthony, but Felton was able to create for himself and others tonight. His leadership is really growing this season and he is playing at a all-star level.

This was also a shooting clinic by the Knicks tonight. They shot 40% from behind the arc including 18 three pointers. Most of their shots were not forced which really was a testament to their ball movement. All night they moved the ball with excellent precision and found guys open. This was an excellent scoring performance by the Knicks, who really bought their best game tonight.

Steve Novak was huge tonight as he scored 18 points. Novak really made some big shots tonight to continue the momentum for the Knicks. His play hasn’t been at its best, but tonight he really had a nice break out performance.

Turnovers continue to be in the Knicks favor. They committed only seven tonight and that really stopped the Heat from creating in transition. This team has protected the ball and made positive decisions to prevent turnovers. Tonight they played hard, but played smart. That effort really goes a long way in games.

With this win the Knicks improve to 14-4 on the season and remain in first place in the Eastern Conference. Also this was the second time this season the Knicks were able to defeat the Heat by 20 points. They have played the Heat well this season and tonight they showed that yet again. 112-92 was the final score as the Knicks defeated the Heat.
