Despite being down 25 points in this game, the Knicks fought back into this game. They really struggled on the defense and really missed defensive assignments early in this game, but in the fourth quarter were able to get back into the game.
This rally came way too late to win this game, but their fight has been there all season.
Carmelo Anthony shot poorly for the most part, but was able to get baskets late in this game to help the team. Anthony scored a game high 39 points. Anthony returned tonight after missing one game due to suspension. Anthony really looked out of rhythm early, but late in the game seemed to find his game. Overall Anthony really had a solid game as he grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 5 assist. Tonight’s performance came in a loss, but all season Anthony has given his team a chance to win, and tonight he did that.
The one person that really stood out tonight was Jason Kidd. He really struggled in his 19 minutes on the court. Kidd was a minus 21 tonight. Kidd didn’t score or record an assist tonight, but grabbed 4 rebounds. The Knicks need Kidd to produce and tonight he really struggled to do that. Without Raymond Felton Kidd has really struggled to find his shot. Hopefully Kidd can get back to playing strong for this team because they definitely need him.
This was a very tough game to watch for the most part. But this team never gave up and tried their best to win this game. The effort was there tonight, but the Bulls did their part to win this game. Luol Deng really made the Knicks pay tonight as he continues to tantalize the Knicks this season. Deng scored 33 points and all of those points came in a variety of ways.
The Bulls have really had the Knicks number this season and tonight that continued. They have played hard in each of the three game and that effort really has paid off for them.
The Knicks will play again on Sunday afternoon when they face the New Orleans Hornets.
This game really should be a wakeup call to this team, that every night you have to come out and play. Tonight the Bulls really jumped on them early and never gave the Knicks an opportunity to win.
