Knicks snap losing streak; Win 100-87

Today the New York Knicks played a strong game to snap their three game losing streak.

Carmelo Anthony struggled early on, but was able to get into a rhythm. Anthony would score 20 points at the half to lead the team and would finish with 27 points. He was very hot and cold in this game, but overall was still able to impact the game for his team. This was a very solid performance by Anthony who also collected 7 rebounds. The Knicks have had success when Anthony can rebound the ball effectively and today he was able to do that.

Collectively the Knicks played a team game today. Every player that played today, scored. That collective scoring can really be effective in that not one person is beating a team. Today the Knicks won as a team and really scored when they had their chances. Their defense also had a team mindset because they played as one. That has to continue every night, in order to win games.

Chris Copeland started this game at the small forward position and really played well. Early in this game, when the Knicks struggled, Copeland really was effective for them as he connected on his first 3 three-pointers. He would score 22 points in 30 minutes of action. He has really played well when given the minutes and today was able to do just that and help his team win.

Tyson Chandler was also a force on the boards as he grabbed 14 rebounds. Also his presence inside was felt as he recorded 3 blocks. His scoring was down today, but he impacted the game in other areas.

This was also a great passing game as the Knicks, collectively, had 24 assists. They have struggled with ball movement against great defenses, but today were able to get the ball moving nicely.

This win was huge for the Knicks, who have struggled over the past week. Today their defense improved and that led to a more fluid offense. Today the Knicks defeat the Hornets 100-87, earning their 24th win.
