Pacers defeat Knicks 81-76

In a defensive battle the Indiana Pacers were able to defeat the New York Knicks tonight. The Pacers held the Knicks to a season low 76 points tonight and limited them to just 4 three-pointers.

This was definitely one of the Knicks worst shooting night’s of the season. They shot 35% from the field and 20% from long range. The Knicks really had a stagnant offense most of the night and that led to struggles on defense.

JR Smith scored 25 points and dished out 6 assists tonight. Smith was the lone player that really had a bright game. It is important to note that Smith did shoot 10 of 29 from the field. This game tonight Smith’s scoring was necessary, but at times he forced his shots and that led to many misses. He did have 6 assists, which is very solid for a guy coming off the bench. His production has definitely been up this season, but tonight he didn’t have a strong game, but he did help the team stay in this game.

Tyson Chandler scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds tonight despite having a sore neck. It was reported before the game that Chandler had a sore neck, but he did have a strong game.

This was a bad game offensively and the defense struggled because of that. Without Carmelo Anthony, out because of suspension, they did the best that they could do under those circumstances. They have another game tomorrow night when they take on the Chicago Bulls. That game will also be a test because the Bulls have the best defense in the league.

Tonight the Knicks fell to the Pacers 81-76 suffering their second consecutive loss.
