Knicks defeat Bucks 96-86

The New York Knicks won a very crucial game tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks. New York trailed by 12 twice in this game, but were able to play outstanding defense to get this win.

Leading the Knicks was an energetic Carmelo Anthony. His 25 points marked his 31st consecutive 20 point game. He was a leader tonight and really didn’t just score to make a difference. Anthony had 8 rebounds and 6 assists tonight. Tonight’s performance really was special in that he was able to impact the game from all over the court. This was one of his better games offensively. He did have 7 turnovers, but in a win those are minuscule.

Amare Stoudemire continued his excellent play as he scored 17 points. Stoudemire really played with energy tonight and used his post skills to his advantage. He also collected 7 rebounds. Not only did he rebound and score, but he also had a nice block. His defense is improving and tonight really showed that he can be a defensive player.

A key in this win was Tyson Chandler. Rebounding was his area tonight as he collected 20 rebounds. This marked the first time in Chandler’s Knicks career that he grabbed 20 rebounds. He also was the first Knick since David Lee to grab 20 rebounds. Lee accomplished that on April 2, 2010 against the Golden State Warriors. Chandler also scored 9 points.

JR Smith also was able to score tonight. Smith scored 17 points off the bench including five three-pointers. This was a nice game for Smith, who has struggled recently.

Overall the Knicks were able to handle their business at home. They have to keep this up tomorrow, when they face the Sacramento Kings. Tonight they had a rough first half defensively, but were able to gain control in the second half. In the second half the Knicks held the Bucks to 33 points. That defensive change really shifted this game to the Knicks.

The Knicks defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 96-86 to earn their 29th win of the season.
