Knicks lose fourth straight; Fall to Clippers 93-80

The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the New York Knicks 93 to 80 today. The Clippers controlled the game from the start and really did an excellent job in the second half of getting what they wanted.

Early in this game the Knicks controlled the pace and really held in their against a fully stocked Clippers team. But the Clippers would come out in the second half and use their quickness to their advantage. That change in philosophy really was the difference for them.

Overall this game was the Clippers to lose. The Knicks were in the game for awhile, but couldn’t sustain consistent offense.

JR Smith was the highest scoring Knick this afternoon as he scored 17 points. Smith shot 4 of 20, but somehow was still able to score 17 points. He was off this game, but he was their only hope today being without Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler for the second consecutive game.

Chris Copeland tallied 13 points in 25 minutes of action tonight. Copeland continues to score for the team in limited minutes. His struggles continue to be on the defensive end. Today he had lapses, but he really has shown improvement since the beginning of the season. If he can get better on that end, he will see a increase in playing time.

Today the Knicks really had a slim chance at winning this game with all of the injures. They held in their, but just couldn’t get it done. This is the teams fourth straight lost as they continue to struggle. Tomorrow they will have to play the Utah Jazz, who are also struggling. This game should be very interesting to see. The Knicks have struggled, but a win tomorrow night could get some of the pressure off the team. Until then the Knicks will hope Tyson Chandler and or Carmelo Anthony can return tomorrow, but that seems highly unlikely.

Knicks also stated that Chandler didn’t miss today’s game because of his knee contusion, but instead missed it because of a strained neck muscle. He could make his return tomorrow, but that is unknown at this point.
