Anthony leads Knicks past Thunder 125-120

In what was a fantastic game, the New York Knicks would continue their great run. From the start the Knicks offense worked, they used the pick and roll and shot the ball well. But like every good team, the Thunder would make a run. They would get a seven point lead and seemed to have all the momentum, but the Knicks would fight back and would lead at halftime 65-56.

The second half was more of the same from the Knicks, the Thunder would make runs, but the Knicks would have answer. Carmelo Anthony was the main source of offense, yet again. Anthony would score 36 points and grab 12 rebounds. His scoring continues to be a great weapon and shot continues to fall. He was a leader tonight and really made the most of his scoring opportunities. It is also worth noting that Anthony had 9 offensive rebounds, a season high, today.

The Knicks offense put up 30 points in three of the four quarters today. That consistent scoring really was because of their three point shooting. 15 three-pointers really were the difference for the Knicks.

JR Smith had the biggest three as he hit one with the shot clock nearly expired. Smith scored 22 points off the bench, as he continues his stellar play. Smith was huge in the second half as he hit tough shots over the Thunder defense. This performance really was necessary for the Knicks winning this game. Smith, by far, was the important player in this game.

The bench today really performed exceptionally well. The Knicks bench outscored the Thunders bench, 55-30. That big differential was the difference today. Chris Copeland and Jason Kidd really stepped up for the team. Copeland scored 13 points, while Kidd scored 14. Both were a major factor off the bench.

Overall this win was possibly the biggest of the 12 game winning streak. This was a game in which the Knicks knew they needed to play their best. They did that and would win the game. This win also marks the first time since 1999-2000 that the Knicks have 50 wins. This has been a remarkable season by the Knicks, who have really improved from the last few years. This win tonight really shows how great the team has played this season.

The Knicks will look to continue winning when they face the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night. That game will be another big game for the Knicks in hopes of clinching the division.
