Tonight the New York Knicks defeated the Miami Heat 102-90, earning their 9th win in a row.
This night was all about Carmelo Anthony as he tied a career high with 50 points. From the start Anthony really was in control as he connected on his first seven shots. His shot was in prime form as he also made seven three-pointers. This was a great performance and one that really helped the Knicks get another win. His shots weren’t easy at all, but he made tough shots.
With his performance tonight, Anthony continues to lead the team. The Knicks have had great games from JR Smith over the past few games, but tonight Anthony stepped up for the team and really put the team on his back.
Raymond Felton had a nice night as he scored 10 points and dished out 9 assists. Felton struggled early on, but during the game really was able to work the offense nicely.
Tonight was the 47th win for the Knicks and it also put them in the second spot in the Eastern Conference. They also reached 20 road wins on the season tonight. That hasn’t happened since 1996-97.
This team won tonight with excellent execution in the second half. In the first half they allowed too many inside scores, but in the second half they were able to limit the Heat from scoring inside. Their defense really improved and was very influential in this win.
The Knicks will next play the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow night, in what will be another tough game. But for tonight, the Knicks took advantage of a shorthanded Miami Heat and received the win.
