Knicks close out regular season with 98-92 win over Hawks

With the regular season now complete, the New York Knicks defeated the Atlanta Hawks 98-92 to close out the regular season.

Chris Copeland led the Knicks with a career high 33 points. Copeland was fantastic tonight as he used clever post moves to beat the Hawks defense. Copeland also played defense tonight as he recorded two blocks. He also collected a steal in 40 minutes of action.

Recently signed Earl Barron played a big role in tonight’s win as he grabbed a career high 18 rebounds. Barron was great early on as he would hit mid-range jumpers. That was a major part in the Knicks signing him because of his ability to score from that range. Tonight he scored 11 points in what was a nice performance by him.

James White scored 20 points in 43 minutes tonight. White made some excellent baskets from around the basket and utilized his quickness to get past the Hawks defense.

Tonight was a nice night for the Knicks who improved to 54-28 on the season.

It is worth noting that Pablo Prigioni sprained his right ankle tonight and did not return. Prigioni has really made a difference in the starting lineup. Hopefully he can play for the Knicks in game one on Saturday, but that is unclear at this point.

Iman Shumpert scored 18 points tonight. Shumpert also collected seven rebounds and dished out eight assists tonight. He did leave early with cramps, but that isn’t serious at all.

The Knicks will host the Boston Celtics on Saturday. The time of the game is unclear, but they will play on Saturday.

Winning over the Hawks 98-92, the Knicks now start the biggest part of the season, THE PLAYOFFS.
