Knicks bounced back nicely tonight against the Cavaliers. Winning their 52nd game of the season, the Knicks really controlled the game the entire night. That control saw them take a 21 point lead in this game.
Carmelo Anthony was stellar again. Anthony scored 31 points in 29 minutes and really scored easy at times. He continues a streak of seven straight games with 30 or more points. This was also another game in which he would grab double digit rebounds, with 14.
JR Smith was also a force off the bench as he scored 31 points. Smith was on fire in this game as he would hit 12 consecutive shots. That was really the reason the Knicks were able to grow their lead. His play was very important tonight.
This was a great offensive showcase by Anthony and Smith. Both were important tonight in this win.
Solomon Jones made his Knick debut tonight. He really wasn’t a factor, but he was able to give the other teammates some rest.
Overall the Knicks looked great tonight. With this win and a Pacers loss the Knicks are now one game away from clinching the second seed. The Knicks will play again on Sunday, when they take on the Pacers at 3:30 pm. That game will be very important for the Knicks.
