According to a report by the New York Daily News, Knicks All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony has a partial tear of his left labrum, an MRI revealed. This injury plagued Anthony during the final stretch of games, including 12 playoff games. If surgery is required Anthony would be sidelined for “three to five months”. If that timetable is correct, as reported by the NYDN, then Anthony would likely miss the start of training camp in October.
The report also suggested that the Knicks have told Anthony to rest three to four weeks before another re-evaluation is taken.
The Knicks haven’t confirmed any of this, but they should in the next couple of days. Once this is official the press release or statement will be posted.
Anthony averaged 28 points in both the regular season and NBA Playoffs.
