The Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 95-88 earning their second consecutive championship.
Led by LeBron James, the Heat would get a dominating performance by him. James would score 37 points in a variety of ways, but one area in particular would be his biggest accomplishment of the night. James would convert on five of ten three pointers. That lethal shooting was the difference in this game. The Spurs would sag off James and that resulted in open opportunities that he would convert on.
James would win Finals MVP as a result of a great series. Tonight was another huge accomplishment for James, who continues to be one of the best players of all-time.
The Spurs put forth a great series, but it wasn’t enough. Their terrible loss in game six made tonight that much harder to win. They stayed in the game all night, but costly turnovers resulted in missed opportunities.
The Miami Heat are NBA Champions yet again. They cap off an amazing season and will start the clock on trying to get a third consecutive title later this year. From Shane Battier to Dwyane Wade, the Heat had great performances tonight. Congratulations to the Miami Heat on becoming NBA Champions yet again.
