The Miami Heat would win the biggest game of their season tonight as they defeated the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 to force a game seven. No play was bigger then Ray Allen’s three-pointer to tie the game with 5.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. That shot would give the Heat the momentum to take this game in overtime.
LeBron James recorded a triple-double after struggling in the first half. James would score 32 points, dish out 11 assists, and grab 10 rebounds. This was an outstanding performance by James who continues to play at a high level.
The main problem for the Spurs was the performance by Manu Ginobli. His struggles took away precious possessions for the Spurs and gave the Heat what they wanted, turnovers. He would turn the ball over eight times tonight. In a big game like tonight, Ginobli was a minus 21 while on the floor. He will need to play better if the Spurs want a title.
One guy who performed well tonight was Tim Duncan. His 30 points and 17 rebounds were huge for the Spurs. The real concern was that Duncan only scored 5 points in the second half. That was a result of the Heat’s energized defense not wanting him to beat them. Duncan did his best in the early part of the game, but late he was a non factor scoring wise.
Game seven will take place on Thursday night, in what will be the final game of the NBA season. The Heat showed tonight that they will not go down without a fight. They have the momentum now and will be the favorites to win on Thursday.
