NBA Finals: Spurs take 3-2 series lead: Defeat Heat 114-104

This was simply the Manu Ginobli game of the season. Ginobli has struggled for the Spurs the entire NBA Finals, but tonight he would change that. Ginobli would score 24 points and dish out 10 assists. His overall play was the difference for the Spurs tonight. He looked more energized and attacked the basket constantly which opened up shots for his teammates. If Ginobli can put forth one more game of this type of play, the Spurs will win the series.

Tonight also was a bit of a history maker as Danny Green broke Ray Allen’s three pointers made in the Finals of 22. Green would have a great night shooting as he made six three-pointers. His shooting touch, this series, has been remarkable. Tonight he converted on open shots and made the Heat pay. Green is definitely the MVP of this series so far. This series is far from over, but right now Green is playing the best basketball of anyone in this series.

The Heat received 25 points from both LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Chris Bosh chipped in with 16 points, while Ray Allen contributed 21 points off the bench. All four really had nice games that should of resulted in a win, but the Spurs just had their number tonight.

Overall the Heat’s struggles came early when they struggled to score. They would figure it out and get closer. They never could get the lead, but they were in this game until the Spurs broke it open in the third quarter. Even after a huge run by the Spurs, the Heat were in it until Danny Green hit a three pointer with under two minutes remaining in the game.

This series has been amazing thus far. Both teams have played an evenly matched series, but with the Spurs only one win away, expect the Heat to come out ready for game six. Tonight the Spurs won because they made timely plays. The Heat will be back home on Tuesday and will have the crowd advantage. That game should be epic!
