NBA to unveil new season award tonight

The Twyman-Stokes was sculpted by Marc Mellon, who also does the Podoloff Trophy that goes to the NBA's MVP.

The NBA will unveil a new season award tonight, before the San Antonio Spurs take on the Miami Heat in game two of the NBA Finals. The award will be introduced by Commissioner David Stern along with the first recipient of the award. The official name of the award is the “Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award”.

Finalists for the inaugural Twyman/Stokes Award were Jerry Stackhouse (Brooklyn Nets), Luke Walton (Cleveland Cavaliers), Andre Iguodala (Denver Nuggets), Jarrett Jack (Golden State Warriors), Roy Hibbert (Indiana Pacers), Chauncey Billups (Los Angeles Clippers), Shane Battier (Miami Heat), Roger Mason, Jr. (New Orleans Hornets), Jason Kidd (New York Knicks), Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder), Manu Ginobili (San Antonio Spurs), and Emeka Okafor (Washington Wizards).

Looking at the list of finalist, Jason Kidd, Andre Iguodala, and Manu Ginobili look like the front runners to win, in my opinion. More information will be posted once the announcement is made.
