Bucks defeat Knicks 105-95

The New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks continued their preseasons tonight. Each team had their runs in this game, but in the end the Bucks would hold on for the 105-95 win.

Led by Caron Butler’s 24 points and O.J. Mayo’s 22 points, the Bucks had excellent production from two of their starters. Both played strong in this game and that led to the win. Both are key for the Bucks if they want to make the playoffs in a stacked Eastern Conference.

Luke Ridnour had a very strong game as he totaled 18 points and 11 assists. Ridnour has improved in his time in the NBA, this season he is the likely starter for the Bucks and should see some career highs.

For the Knicks, Carmelo Anthony struggled with his shot tonight, but like always scored 22 points. Anthony did have nine rebounds and seven assists. His shot was off for the better part of a half. But he was able to start knocking down some shots with consistency in the third quarter and that consistency led to a nice Knick run.

Tonight the Knicks really had nothing on the offensive end and tend to when Carmelo struggles. That could become a concern later in the season, but for right now that remains to be seen.

Tim Hardaway Jr. played a very strong game off the bench scoring 16 points. He was energized and really was fearless going to the basket. That energy really is worth pointing out because once he gets the defense down, Hardaway will be a very strong role player. Tonight he struggled at time on defense, but he is still learning the game and should pick up the rotations by seasons end.

With one preseason game remaining for the Knicks expect a more rotation heavy game on Friday night. JR Smith could possibly play if everything goes well in practice. The status of Amare Stoudemire and Kenyon Martin are unclear, but their returns should help the team whenever their ready.
