Points of Emphasis

• Illegal Screens
• Hip Checks
• Leg Extension
• Arm Extension
• Contact of Jump Shots
• Traveling
• Pivot foot movement
• Discontinued Dribble
• Hand under ball while dribbling
• Delay-Of-Game
• Defensive players can no longer touch the ball once it goes through the net
• Freedom of Movement
• Verticality
• Block/Charge
• Flagrant Fouls
• Windup
• Basketball Play
• Potential of Injury
• Respect for the Game
• Slamming the ball
• Punching the air
• Bothering officials after being told to stop

New Rules/New Interpretations

• Offensive player can no longer stand out of bounds to create spacing. If player leaves court they must immediately return otherwise a violation will occur.
• Clear Path Foul
• If ball handler is over the half court line after a steal and is fouled. It will no longer be a clear path foul. That means if the foul occurs in front of, behind, or from the side it is not clear path.
• Free Throw Speed Up
• Players from both teams will no longer be able to touch the ball in between free throws.
