The New York Knicks visited the Charlotte Bobcats tonight looking to snap a three game losing streak. The Knicks would control this game for the entire night and would defeat the Bobcats 101-91.
This game was all about the performance of Andrea Bargnani, who has struggled to start the season. But tonight Bargnani stepped up contributing 25 points. Not only did he score but he also blocked five shots. He was active on both ends of the floor and looked like a different player. His aggressiveness was something to marvel at as
he attempted 25 shots. He will be a very huge part of the team going forth with Tyson Chandler missing time with a broken leg. Tonight Bargnani provided an excellent touch offensively and stepped up defensively. Bargnani also grabbed a season high 8 rebounds in tonight’s win.
Not only was Bargnani good tonight, but Carmelo Anthony had a solid game as well. Anthony scored 28 points grabbed 8 boards and dished out 6 assists. Anthony shot possibly his best game of the season as he went 12 of 22 from the floor. His leadership will be key in the Knicks getting better. Tonight he played well in all aspects and really did his job to help get the team back on track.
For the Bobcats Kemba Walker continues to play really well. Walker scored 25 points and really utilized his speed to his advantage. That speed led to open looks at the rim and for his teammates. Walker dished out 5 assists tonight and really did a solid job in keeping the Bobcats in the game.
Gerald Henderson scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 35 minutes. Henderson continued his solid start to the season as he continues to play well against the Knicks. Henderson is looking more of an NBA player this season as he continues to improve with time in the league. He is more versatile and brings more to the team now. Tonight his effort didn’t lead his team to a win, but continuing to play at that level will.
Overall tonight was a good win for the Knicks. They were able to get back to their style of play. The lineups were more suited for the team tonight and that helped get the team back on track.
The Knicks will play the Spurs at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon looking to continue winning. The Bobcats will play the Atlanta Hawks on Monday trying to get a win.
