Hawks hand Knicks fifth straight home loss; Win 110-90

The Atlanta Hawks played a dominating performance tonight as they defeated the New York Knicks 110-90. This loss made it five straight home losses for the Knicks who continue to struggle at home.

The Hawks played a very solid game in all areas especially the pick and roll. That area caused so many issues for the Knicks as they couldn’t stop that one play.

There were some very bright spots for the Hawks including the play of Kyle Korver who would score 15 points. Korver shot the ball really well and hit some big shots to extend the Hawks lead. His three point shot continues to be one of the best in the league and that was on display tonight. Also the play of Jeff Teague was strong as he added 16 points. He was able to get to the basket with ease. The Knicks would switch causing Teague to have an easier matchup with a big man guarding him. That would lead to easy baskets that Teague capitalized on. Both Korver and Teague were huge tonight and really did their job.

The Hawks would get double digit scoring from eight players tonight. They moved the ball and really looked to make the extra pass to lead to easier baskets.

For the Knicks they had a great game from Carmelo Anthony. He was active from the start of the game and really looked to attack on the inside. He took a banging and the way the team is leaning on him is really disturbing. He can not continue to lead this team by himself. Tonight he did his job with his 23 points and 12 rebounds but had really no help in keeping the team in the game.

Andrea Bargnani played another solid game with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Bargnani continues to struggle defensively, but with terrible guard defense it’s not all his fault.

The Knicks are really looking bad this season and continue to struggle at home. They have many problems to address. The point guard play has really been nonexistent and that has translated into poor offense and poor defense. The Knicks are now 3-6 on the season and are looking really bad.

The Hawks continue to play well and are now 6-4 on the season. They will play the Miami Heat on Tuesday looking to continue playing well. The Knicks will play the Detroit Pistons Tuesday in what will be a very tough game for them.
