Knicks recall Chris Smith

New York Knickerbockers President and General Manager Steve Mills announced today that the team has recalled guard Chris Smith from the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League.

Smith, 6-0, 200-pounds, was assigned to Erie on Nov. 18 and has averaged 11.3 points, on 50.0-percent shooting, 4.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 24.7 minutes in six games for the BayHawks.

With the guard position being hit by injuries, the Knicks had no other choice but to bring Smith back to the NBA club. Smith saw little playing time at the NBA level, including preseason, but has been playing well in the D-League. It will be very interesting to see where he sits on the depth chart, but he is someone the Knicks can get a good look at with Pablo Prigioni and Raymond Felton out with injuries.
