Matchup to Watch
This weeks matchup to watch is the New York Knicks hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas Day.
The Knicks have struggled this season, there’s no way around that, but the Thunder are a team the Knicks will look to come out and compete against. They love facing the top teams in the league and the Thunder are one of those teams.
If the Knicks can come out and get the crowd behind them, this will be a very big win for them. If not, they will have to continue trying to get things right.
Player to Watch
Iman Shumpert has struggled this season. But this week expect Shumpert to break out of his slump.
His offensive game has really been the issue this season as his shot has been very inconsistent. But watching him over the last few games his shot is almost right. In particular his form is nearly perfect, he’s just not getting the results. If he sticks with his approach shots will fall.
Defensively Shumpert has been average this season. He has had moments of success and moments of disappointment. This is an area where Shumpert has to make his impact on the game. If he can start causing havoc on that end, it will allow him chances to create for the team. He has locked down players this season, but it hasn’t been enough to lead the team to a win. If Shumpert can take Tyson Chandler’s approach to the game, bringing energy and passion to the game, he will help this team in so many ways.
