The Indiana Pacers hosted the Boston Celtics at Bankers Life Fieldhouse tonight. This one went the Pacers way from start to finish. They would erupt in the second quarter to take a 52-37 lead into halftime. In the second half it was more of the same as the Pacers would rout the Celtics, winning 106-79.
The Pacers abused the Celtics inside and really made that part of their offensive strategy. They went on to score 50 points in the paint in what was a dominating inside game.
Lance Stephenson was unreal tonight as he captured his third triple-double of the season. Stephenson scored 12 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists. His play tonight really sparked the Pacers offense and would get them the win. His play this season shows that he can be a very dominate player if given the opportunity. He emerged last season and has continued to play well for the Pacers this season.
Paul George was also another Pacer to lead the way as he scored a team high 24 points tonight. George really used quickness to his advantage as he drove the ball inside of the Celtics defense. He continues to be a very nice player for the Pacers as they try to build upon the success of the last couple of seasons.
The Celtics really were overmatched tonight and it started from the beginning. The Pacers really attacked inside early on and that freed up shooting opportunities. The Celtics are a young team that went up against an experienced Pacers team that really had the advantage. That advantage led to the Pacers having the edge on the defensive end where they really made it tough on the Celtics to execute on offense.
Overall the Pacers showed why they are one of the top teams tonight. Racking up 28 assists really showed the success of their offense tonight. They really controlled the game from the start and never looked back. This was a very nice win for the Pacers who now improve to 22-5 on the season. The Celtics on the other hand dropped to 12-17 on the season.
