Carmelo Anthony makes history; Pours in 62 points as Knicks rout Bobcats

Carmelo Anthony made history tonight dropping a career high and franchise record 62 points. His start to this game was perfect as he scored 20 points at the end of the first quarter. His shot was in prime form as he made every shot look easy. This was easily the best game of his career and he knew it. This was a very impressive game by Anthony and one of the best performances I have seen. Not only did Anthony score, but he also grabbed 13 rebounds.

His efficiency is also something to point out. Anthony shot 66% from the field on 23-of-35 shooting. This was just a brilliant performance by him and one for the ages.

The Knicks snapped a five game losing streak with this win and now have a nice win to build off. They moved the ball and their energy level was at a real high. For the first time they seemed more free and did everything that was expected of them. Was this a sign of things to come? I hope so.

The defense in particular was much better as they went over screens and for the most part didn’t switch as much. They have to continue to play like they did tonight or tonight’s game was just a waste.

The Bobcats had a great game from Al Jefferson who scored 25 points and totaled nine rebounds. He was a nice inside presence for the Bobcats and they used him nicely in their offense. Jefferson has played very well for the Bobcats since finally getting healthy. He should be a very important part of their offense even more now that Kemba Walker is sidelined with a sprained left ankle.

Overall tonight was a very great night for the Knicks. They competed and really ran a full 48 minutes to earn this win. The pace they set early on was something they have struggled with this season. They forced turnovers and they looked like a different team. Yeah it came against the Bobcats, but it was still something they needed.

The Knicks now have to move on and face the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday looking to build off this win.
