Stephenson leads Pacers over Knicks 117-89

The Indiana Pacers showed that they are a very good team tonight as they defeated the New York Knicks 117-89.

This one was close early on, but the Pacers would pull away in the second quarter. From that point on they would easily defeat the Knicks. Lance Stephenson would have a great game as he scored a career high 28 points. He really was able to just do what ever he wanted. He drove the ball and also shot the ball well. He continues to be a very solid player and is making the case for being an All-Star this season. Tonight he was great in every aspect of the game and that was a very big reason for the Pacers winning tonight.

Paul George was also a featured player tonight as he scored 25 points. His play was strong throughout this one and his role was also important.

The Knicks were really bad from the second quarter on. They fell behind due to lack of offense and terrible defense. They couldn’t make their mark on the defensive end and it showed.

Carmelo Anthony was the only Knick to have a strong game. He scored 28 points and grabbed seven boards tonight. He scored early, but once the Pacers started doubling him, his teammates didn’t step up. Anthony has played consistent in every game this season and it’s tough to see him have to play with teammates who aren’t their every game.

This was just a tough game for the Knicks. Not only did they lose the game, but they lost Kenyon Martin and Amare Stoudemire to left ankle sprains. Both left and never returned tonight.

The Pacers improve to 31-7 and the Knicks fall to 15-24. The Knicks will play again tomorrow night trying to get back on track, but they will go up against another tough team in the form of the Los Angeles Clippers. The Pacers will play the Clippers on Saturday looking to keep up their winning ways.
