The Miami Heat made a very big statement tonight in Oklahoma City as they defeated the Thunder 103-81. LeBron James was the leader to start this game as he started 5-for-5. He would prove to be an unstoppable force in this one as he scored a game-high 33 points. James did get injured in the fourth quarter after he was hit on the nose. He went to the ground and had blood pouring out of his nose. At this moment it is unknown the severity of James’ injury, but that will be something to keep an eye on.
The Heat controlled the game for the most part tonight. They started strong and every time the Thunder went on a run they had an answer. Dwyane Wade was very into this game tonight as he scored 24 points. He really played a very smooth and steady game tonight. When James went down, Wade was right there to help carry some of the load. Chris Bosh also was strong tonight as he scored 24 points. Both Wade and Bosh supported the strong start by James to get the win tonight.
The Thunder really struggled to take care of the ball tonight. The Heat also struggled with this, but were able to make plays after turnovers. Kevin Durant was very quiet early on, but came up strong later in this game. Durant would finish with 28 points and eight rebounds. He continues to play some very steady basketball and give the Thunder some strong play.
Overall tonight the Heat showed why they are the World Champions. They played strong on defense and really did an excellent job in taking away passing lanes for the Thunder. They played aggressive on defense and made the Thunder work for all of their offense. Tonight was just a dominate performance by Miami. The big three played strong showing why they are still the best in terms of competing.
This was a very solid game in terms of excitement. Both teams competed and made plays. Just that in the end the Thunder weren’t able to make the necessary plays to win tonight.
