Durant leads Thunder past Knicks

Kevin Durant was just unbelievable today as he dropped 41 points on the New York Knicks. His play led to the Thunder defeating the Knicks 112-100. From the start Durant was just in prime form as he shot the ball well and drove to the basket for scores. His play this season is simply remarkable. Today he did everything right and made plays for his teammates. He racked up nine assists and also grabbed ten rebounds. The Thunder have an excellent opportunity this season. Durant is playing so well and the return of Russell Westbrook should give them a great chance to go far this season.

The Thunder had excellent production out of three other starters as well. Reggie Jackson scored 19 points, Serge Ibaka scored 16 points, and Thabo Sefolosha added 12 points. That production combined with Durant is just too much to stop. The Knicks defense was poor at times and the Thunder took advantage.

The Knicks were able to score, but with defensive problems they had the Thunder just were able to make plays to win. Carmelo Anthony really struggled today as he shot 5-for-19 from the field. The Thunder really played with tons of pressure on him and that really disrupted his timing. He did have five assists and seven rebounds in 36 minutes.

Amare Stoudemire tallied 16 points off the bench as his solid play continues. He has really looked strong in both his shooting and the pick and roll. He seems to have more burst then the past couple of season. He is making the case for more minutes and he should see that if he can continue to play like he did today.

This was a very tough game for New York to win today. They hung in as long as they could, but the Thunder were just to quick and energized then them. This would have been a very nice win, but the Knicks now have to move on.

Iman Shumpert showed signs of life tonight as he scored 12 points. Shumpert has looked real bad on offense this season, today he seemed more confident in his shot. His aggressiveness was there, and that makes a huge difference in terms of getting out of a cold stretch.

The Thunder came to play today. They used their poise to their advantage as they were able to get stronger as the game went on. Durant proved that he is one of the top players in the league and the Knicks should that they have a long way to go.
