Knight lifts Bucks over Knicks 101-98

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New York Knicks 101-98 in a very nice win for Milwaukee. They came out ready to play and despite some cold stretches by them, they were still able to get the win tonight. A three by Brandon Knight with 1.4 seconds remaining would be enough to lift the Bucks over the Knicks.

Knight had another big game against the Knicks as he scored 25 points. He utilized his speed and ability to shoot to score his points. His play has been up and down, but against the Knicks he seems to play very well. Tonight he did that and it resulted in the Bucks winning their first game of the season against the Knicks. Knight also had seven assists in 46 minutes.

The Bucks also had great play from Giannis Antetokounmpo. He was a real spark for them as he scored 15 points off the bench. His energy was incredible and he played a very huge role in allowing the Bucks to win. With his parents in the crowd for the first time since joining the NBA earlier this season. He really showed heart and poise for a young guy and put on a very strong game. His teammate Khris Middleton also added some huge points for Milwaukee as he scored 19 points. He shot the ball very well and the Knicks couldn’t combat his size and quickness. Antetokounmpo and Middleton were two very huge parts of this win for Milwaukee. They both did their job in helping get the team the win.

The Knicks on the other hand fell behind early and like always were able to come back, but in the end couldn’t pull off the win. Other than Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith the rest of the team struggled. Anthony and Smith combined for 66 points, but it wasn’t enough. Anthony in particular was incredible down the stretch. He scored 17 points in the fourth quarter in a quarter the Knicks outscored the Bucks by three. His play was huge late, but was wasted in a terrible loss. Smith really was good as well as he scored a season high 30 points. Those two have to feel good about their play tonight, but disappointed in the way this game ended.

Defensively the Knicks took a huge step back tonight. They allowed the pick and roll to destroy their defense and more importantly they fouled at the most important times.

This was a very important game for the Knicks because they could have erased the Heat loss from Saturday night, but instead make that loss existent with this loss. Now with the Trail Blazers coming up on Wednesday night, the Knicks could be headed on another bad losing streak.
