It was more of the same for New York tonight as they faced Golden State. After losing big to Miami last night, the Knicks came out flat tonight and never would get back into the game. The Warriors torched them from long range all night and that would prove to be the difference. The Warriors went on blow out the Knicks 126-103.
Stephen Curry put on a show tonight. Curry would record a triple-double with 27 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds. He made it look easy as he broke down the Knicks defense to set up his teammates. Early he looked to score and that would result in him having 20 points at halftime. The Warriors have a great player in Curry and tonight he showed why.
Secondary scoring is important for any team and tonight Klay Thompson gave the Warriors that. Thompson would score 25 points including five three-pointers in 29 minutes. He has his ups and downs, but when he’s on, the Warriors are one very tough team.
The Knicks were just erratic from the start. Their offense and defense were poor tonight. Carmelo Anthony, Tim Hardaway Jr, and JR Smith were the leading scorers for New York tonight as all three played well at times. But with the lack of defense their scoring didn’t matter.
This was just a downright dreadful performance by the Knicks. Tyson Chandler lost his cool and was ejected after getting into an altercation with Marresse Speights.
Struggling to find a way to win, New York must travel to Chicago to face the Bulls. That game will be a very tough one for New York simply because they know how to defend and take the Knicks out of their game plan.
