Knicks cruise past Jazz; Win 108-81

The New York Knicks played the Utah Jazz tonight at Madison Square Garden. It would turn into a blow out for New York as they controlled the game from the start. For the first time in a long time, New York put together back to back solid wins. Tonight was a bit easier, but they were able to build off a win over the Timberwolves. The Knicks went on to win 108-81 for their second consecutive win.

The starting unit continued to play well again tonight. Everyone except Raymond Felton were able to score in double figures. The starters were led by Carmelo Anthony who scored 29 points. But it wasn’t just his scoring tonight. He was able to get his teammates involved as he racked up eight assists. He let the game come to him tonight and that led to excellent passing. He was able to find JR Smith multiple times tonight for open looks and that should be something they continue doing for the rest of the season.

Resulting for Carmelo Anthony’s crisp passing, Smith scored 17 points including five three-pointers. Smith was under control and looked to impact the game with his scoring. He also recorded three blocks to cap off his night.

Tonight is how New York is suppose to play. Come out hard and compete. The last few games they seem to have a new spirit and swag about them. This game tonight was important because they have to start beating teams their supposed to defeat.

The Jazz had a very nice effort from Gordon Hayward. He scored a team high 18 points including six rebounds and four assists. He is a very nice player for the Jazz and tonight wasn’t his best game, but he still gave effort. Their future is bright and hopefully they can keep Hayward past this season.

Overall tonight was a very important win for New York. They continue to try to make something of this season. They have a long way to go, but a win is a win. The Knicks will now start to prepare for the Cavaliers, whom they face tomorrow night in Cleveland.
