Knicks defeat T-Wolves 118-106

After struggling the last seven games, the New York Knicks finally broke through in the win column with a 118-106 win over the Timberwolves.

They started the game red hot from the floor and it continued throughout the game. It was a collective effort tonight as all of the starters scored in double figures for the first time this season.

But the real story was the big game from Raymond Felton. His personal life has been in the news over the past couple of weeks, but tonight he put all of that behind him to have a strong game. He scored 18 points and dished out eight assists in 31 minutes tonight. He set the tone early with penetration to set up his teammates. That has been lacking all season for him and has resulted in the team struggling on offense. His defense was also improved tonight as he racked up four steals and a block. Felton was engaged, energetic, and looked to make plays tonight. Hopefully he can continue this level of play as the season begins to wind down.

Carmelo Anthony had a very strong game as he scored 33 points. Anthony has been the only consistent player for New York all season. Tonight he continued that with excellent shots and consistent offense.

The Timberwolves struggled to play consistent defense tonight. They constantly allowed New York to do what they wanted and that led to a deficit of 17 points at one point in this game. They were able to get back into the game, but their defense wasn’t able to hold off the Knicks.

The Knicks did an excellent job on Kevin Love tonight. He was limited to 19 points and eight rebounds tonight. Love is a guy who can easily get double-doubles each night, but tonight the Knicks did an excellent job in covering him.

Overall tonight was a very nice win for New York. They basically need to win the rest of the games of the season if they want a playoff spot. Tonight they came out ready and it showed in the result. They played hard and made plays constantly resulting in a wire to wire win.
