Knicks earn third straight win; Defeat Cavaliers 107-97

The New York Knicks won their third consecutive game tonight as they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-97. With the season on the line every night for New York, tonight they stepped up to continue a nice streak of wins.

From the start the Knicks looked strong and poised to win tonight. After leading by 15 points in the second quarter, they did allow the Cavaliers back into the game. And that would continue in the second half when Cleveland took the lead. But the Knicks didn’t quit. They battled back with strong play and were able to pull away late in the game to pick up the win.

Despite not having his best game tonight. Carmelo Anthony really led by example through his play. Anthony has been battling some sickness over the last couple of games, but that didn’t affect him tonight. He would score 26 points, but he was able to give his team a lift when they needed it the most. At the end of the third quarter Cleveland had the momentum, but a late bucket by him would keep New York in the lead after three quarters of play.

This was also a great game for JR Smith, Amare Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler. Those three really played huge tonight as they all scored in double figures. They have given New York excellent play over the last three games and that was evident tonight.

Pablo Prigioni had a very strong scoring game tonight. Off the bench Prigioni scored 11 points including three three-pointers. His play was huge tonight as he made plays to help get New York the win tonight.

Cleveland really battled back into this game. Early on they struggled to get into their offense, but Spencer Hawes really stretched the floor well for them. He connected on four three-pointers and finished with 21 points and was a nice plus for Cleveland’s offense. In the end the team struggled, but Kyrie Irving was key to them being competitive in this game. He scored a game high 30 points and really used his savvy to get to the basket to create scoring opportunities for himself.

Overall this game was very entertaining and in the end New York was able to come out on top. They made an effort to win tonight and it showed in the end.
