Knicks win fourth straight; Defeat 76ers 123-110

The New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 123-110, earning their fourth straight win. The start was slow by New York as they fell behind by 12 points early. But as the game went on the Knicks would just put the game in their control. The fourth quarter went the Knicks went the Knicks way as they blew the game open.

Off the bench it was Tim Hardaway Jr who would have one of his better games of the season. Hardaway led the team in scoring tonight as he scored 28 points. He was in prime form tonight as he made play after play. He has struggled a bit the last couple of weeks, but tonight he put forth a very nice performance.

Amare Stoudemire was also strong tonight as he scored 23 points. He made strong inside moves tonight and has really given New York an excellent inside presence. Tonight he played a very physical game inside and also made some very brilliant defensive plays. He also played well alongside Carmelo Anthony, who also had a strong game. Anthony scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 32 minutes tonight. He didn’t have his best game, but in the end still impacted the game.

The 76ers started strong, but couldn’t keep it up. Their strong player tonight was Tony Wroten who scored 21 points. Wroten drew fouls and really attacked the basket. The Knicks allowed him to just continue to break down the defense and he made plays. But in the second half New York really changed up the game plan and that limited Wroten in the end.

Michael Carter-Williams filled up the stat sheet tonight as he racked up his second triple-double of the season. Carter-Williams ended the night with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists in what was a very nice performance.

The Knicks continued their stellar play tonight. They came out sluggish, but put it high gear in the second half. Their defense was much more aggressive and they made things happen on that end. Tyson Chandler didn’t play tonight due to personal reasons, but the Knicks were able to win without him.

It is also worth mentioning the strong game from JR Smith. While New York struggled early in the game, Smith didn’t. Smith really came out ready tonight and that resulted in him finishing the night with 22 points.

The Knicks will next play the Boston Celtics, looking to continue playing a very good stretch of basketball. They continue to make their way back up the standings and are making a strong push for the playoffs.
