USA defeats Turkey 98-77 despite trailing at halftime

After having a tough first half, Team USA would cruise to a 98-77 win over Turkey. Their play in the first half was really hard to watch at times as their offense struggled to convert on any opportunities presented to them. The ball moved, but quick shots made it hard for USA to get into any offensive rhythm.

The second half was more of what USA does. They were able to get back to their game and pace as they would open the game up in the third and fourth quarters. The change USA made was in the second half was more of an inside out attack. They played inside with Anthony Davis and Kenneth Faried and outside with Stephen Curry and James Harden.

Kenneth Faried was the player that helped get USA back on track as he dominated inside. He was also active on defense and ran the court with excellent poise. Faried finished with 22 points and 8 rebounds.

The strong play of Anthony Davis also was a benefit for Team USA. Davis scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. His length and size were huge defensively as he made so nice defensive plays.

Overall USA struggled, but were able to get back on track. They will now look to their matchup against New Zealand on Tuesday at 11:30 AM.
