Bobcats send Knicks to third straight loss

The New York Knicks faced the Charlotte Bobcats looking to snap a two game losing streak. This game was another battle for the Knicks, who trailed by 13 points at one point in this game. They just couldn’t get over the hump tonight and the Bobcats did everything they could to make it hard for the Knicks to comeback. The Knicks would go on to lose 102-97.

Kemba Walker played a very solid game as he scored 25 points and dished out 6 assists. Walker shot the ball really well from the midrange area. He really did a great job in creating penetration to the basket. That would then cause him to have an easy basket or find an open teammate. Tonight he did that and really disrupted the Knicks defense.

Gerald Henderson added 18 points and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 16 points. Both played very strong tonight and did a nice job in getting the Bobcats in position to win.

For the Knicks they really had a bad night. Not only losing this game, but they lost Tyson Chandler to injury. Chandler was injured in the first quarter after Kemba Walker fell into Chandler’s right leg. The Knicks say Chandler will undergo more tests tomorrow. From that point on the Knicks just couldn’t get over the hump in terms of getting control of the game.

This team has many struggles from multiple areas. The combinations of players hasn’t worked and has resulted in the teams third straight lost. Carmelo Anthony 32 points, a season high, but he struggled most of the night just like the rest of his teammates. Anthony logged 45 minutes and really looked gassed down the stretch. His minutes have been high to start the season and that could be having an impact on his shot. Tonight Anthony did score a season high, but continued to show some struggles with his shot.

Metta World Peace came off the bench and really was a spark. World Peace scored 18 points and really was a key factor in the Knicks getting back in this game. His defense was also great as he racked up three steals. The Knicks may have to start World Peace at some point now that Chandler is out and may miss games. He has shown that he can play alongside Carmelo Anthony and tonight played really well with him on the floor.

Overall the Knicks continue to struggle and have no positive signs. They have struggled in every aspect of the game and look lost. Tonight was another example of a team that is lacking in direction and what they want to do.

The Knicks and Bobcats will face each other again this Friday. That game will be huge for the Knicks in terms of team moral.
